  • Secret PPC Review

    Google Adwords!

    It's almost becomne a dirty word hasn't it? In fact Google Adwords has become something that Internet Marketers love to hate. But, really, should we all hate Google. Well, it's certainly true they have now moved much moe towards courting a "corporate" client base and certainly stilt Adwords in favor of the big spenders. It's different rules on Quality Score and relevancy for the big boys versus the small business these days!

    So, assuming you are a small business wantting to utlize PPC to drive traffic to your offers, you simply have to understand and accept that it's Google's ball and if we want to play with it we simply have to play by their rules, like it or not! I don't say this to be clever or controversial, it's a fact of life. And I know people do like to indulge in a bit of
    Google bashing here and there...I've been guilty in the past, but it's what we have to deal with. So, let's get on with it shall we?

    When I first starting using Adwords I was on the wrong end of some very bad information and...in my first month I spent a whoping £1,376 and generated just two sales of £64.95 - OUCH! Duff advice at a high price from a so-called Internet Marketing Guru...who also claimed to be a Google certified professional - oh if I only knew then what I know now :>) And, he's still out there doing it - I don't know how he has the front to still put himself out there as a teacher!

    So...I had to move on and it was a breath of fresh air when I found the now (very) sadly defunct Adwords Excellence. Wow, what brilliant Adwords training. Run by young Scottish entrepreneur Stewart McKay it was simply the best Adwords training membership site ever, then one day...it and Stewart just disappoeared, all of a sudden -  really very sad.

    Fortunately Stewart did bring my Adwords skills into the 21st Century! I'd love to know what happened to Stewart!

    In essence he taught that you simply needed to understand the rules Google set then work within those rules whilst testing to push the boundaries. Then when you have found the dividing lines...stay within them and Google will be happy. In fact, Google does tell you everything you need to know if you dig deep enough!

    So, with Stewart having disappeared into an Internet Marketing "black-hole" (if anyone does know where he is, please let me know!), I started looking for an alternative mentor. I always like to have a proper mentor on board for key skills!

    As it happened the summer of 2008 saw me scheduled to attended some Internet Marketing events. I was looking to find a mentor who could really hep me ramp up my online business. By this time I had the basics under control and was making a little bit of money but not as much as I wanted.

    So, I was at the Andrew Reynolds Bootcamp! There were some good speakers and some decent information...but boy was it a pitch fest! All selling big ticket items and big ticket prices and not much of it worth the prices being charged!

    However, Armand Morin was different, he gave away real, hard egded useful information. So, I forked out a large sum of money to be taught by him. It was money well spent...and you don't often hear that said about Internet Marketing Gurus! Part of the package I purchased was two tickets to Armand Morin Live, and fortunately I couldn't make the one I was due to attend, so Lee and I went along in November 2009 and that was where we saw Secret PPC presented live on stage.

    Now, I can't say an awful lot about what's in Secret PPC without giving the game away totally, but I'll tell you what happened once Lee and I had implemented the strategy.

    As I said earlier, Adwords is becoming expensive to the samll Guy. Some of our campaigns had dipped from profitable to becoming marginal at best and that on straight forward ads with well defined niche keywords. We had played around with MSN and Yahoo and got varying results. We definitely wanted to stay within Google as the traffic
    was better quality (more butyers) and there was a lot more of it, but it was starting to get very expensive and hurting our bottom line.

    So, we sat there totally absorbed as Armand presented the Secret PPC strategy there, live on stage. My initial thought was that it was his spending power and sizew of account that was keeping the cost per click down as low as it was, but he assured us that in most markets clicks can be purchased at less than $0.05 / click. There were examples of other Armand Morin students who had used the technique to build lists of 20-30,000 at just cents per click. Build a 20,000 strong list and you will make money!

    So, Lee and I vowed to try out Secret PPC as soon as we got home. Sunday night huddled around the PC we put up our first Secret PPC campaign in the Parental Software niche.

    Our standard campaigns were see a CPC of between $0.75 and $1.03, this was one campaign that was now VERY marginal.The Secret PPC campaign came in at 3-4 pence per click (UK money, Google changed UK customers of to GBP during the campaign). We were completely bowled over! So, we started up Secret PPC campaigns in every market we had Adwords running in - see if we could make a proper comparison.

    Not only did our cost per click drop to these remarkable levels, but the number of clicks was massively increased as well. We couldn't believe the difference. The only thing that slightly "foxed us was the low click through rates we were getting. We subsequently found out that the CTR's are actually very good for a Secret PPC campaign, you see differen rules apply!

    Since we started implementing Secret PPC in late November 2009 we have seen our CPC drop dramatically across our entire business which obvioulsy corresponded to an increase in the overall profitability of our business. The number of click has also increased by a factor of 7-8 and our profitability has increased by a factor of 4, or...wait
    for it...200%!

    Stunning figures and the best reason I can find to get your hands on Secret PPC. The bottom line is this, I have come to trust Armand Morin over the last two years. Yes, I know some of his stuff is expensive, but I guess the reason for that is it works.
